Jason-Marc Mohamed
Jason-Marc Mohamed is a wildlife filmmaker and conservationist whose work merges science, storytelling, and environmental advocacy. Raised in Trinidad and Tobago, his early exposure to the region’s rich biodiversity influenced his visual style and narrative approach. From a young age, he picked up a camera and began exploring photography, developing a keen sensitivity to composition, light, and visual storytelling in natural environments.
He earned a degree in geology in California and worked for several years as an environmental specialist. During this time, he gained hands-on experience in environmental management and conservation, further strengthening his commitment to protecting natural ecosystems.
Driven by the idea of combining science with visual storytelling, Jason-Marc later completed a master’s degree in wildlife filmmaking at the University of the West of England, in collaboration with the BBC Natural History Unit. This training propelled his career in high-quality natural history production, where he has contributed to major wildlife documentary series for global platforms such as the BBC, Apple TV+, and National Geographic.
As a director, Jason-Marc created his film “Spectral,” a collaboration with the European Research Council, reflects his commitment to exploring little-known species and disseminating cutting-edge scientific research.
Through his work, Jason-Marc Mohamed continues to highlight the complexity and wonder of the natural world while advocating for its protection.
