Pedro Kos

Pedro Kos recently co-directed the Netflix original short documentary LEAD ME HOME (2021) with Jon Shenk, which was nominated for an Academy Award. His latest feature-length documentary, REBEL HEARTS, which he directed, wrote, and edited, premiered in the 2021 Sundance Film Festival’s U.S. Documentary Competition and was released globally on Discovery+. He previously wrote and produced the Netflix original documentary THE GREAT HACK, by Jehane Noujaim and Karim Amer, which premiered at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival and was nominated for a BAFTA Award. His directorial debut,
BENDING THE ARC (co-directed with Kief Davidson), premiered at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival. Previously, he edited THE SQUARE, the Oscar-nominated documentary directed by Jehane Noujaim, which earned Pedro an Emmy Award for Outstanding Editing of a Documentary Program; WASTE LAND, the Oscar-nominated documentary directed by Lucy Walker; THE CRASH REEL (winner of the Audience Award at the 2013 SXSW Film Festival); and THE ISLAND PRESIDENT, directed by Jon Shenk (winner of the Audience Award for Best Documentary at the 2011 Toronto International Film Festival), among others. Pedro is originally from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and holds a degree in Theater Directing from Yale University.
