Rocío Almuna

Rocío Almuna is a socio-environmental researcher specializing in human-wildlife coexistence with an interdisciplinary and intercultural approach. Her work combines scientific research, collaborative work, and diverse communication formats to bridge the gap between knowledge systems. For five years, she has explored documentary photography focused on the connections between people and nature, and has complemented her scientific work by leading the editorial work of the journal Saberes Socioambientales, published by the Chilean Society of Socioecology and Ethnoecology. Her collaborations with artists, including filmmakers, photographers, illustrators, and poets, have fueled her interest in communicating complex ecological themes through accessible and meaningful narratives. Feyentun is her first documentary work, born from her doctoral research with Mapuche and rural communities.
