Alejandro Calderón

Audiovisual producer with a solid track record in science communication.
Co-founder of Fotosíntesis Colombia SAS, he has co-directed and composed the music for acclaimed documentaries such as “MANARE, The Thirst of the Plains” (2013), “H2O” (2014), “Psilocybe, the Science of Mysticism” (2020), “Hermit, Life Is a Dream” (2021), “Páramos, the Land of Mists” (2022), “Armadillo, to the Rhythm of Joropo” (2023), and “Paramunas, the Soul of the Mountain” (2024), among others.
He has recently completed the second part of his documentary trilogy about the páramos of Colombia: “Páramos II, The Origin” (2025), a transmedia project co-produced with Señal Colombia. As well as the documentary series “Hippos, Escobar’s Legacy” (2025) and recently completed “Armadillos, the Voice Beneath the Ground” (2026).

Her career, which merges the arts with the natural sciences, encompasses more than 15 years of experience in landscape, nature, wildlife, flora, and portrait photography. This comprehensive vision has allowed her to take her stories beyond the screen, coordinating the production of at least six editorial projects about Colombian nature.
